Pronounce “SKYPE” correctly
I think most of us who used to Internet must know what is Skype. For those who not sure about Skype, here’s the explaination for you.
Skype is a peer-to-peer Internet telephony network founded by the entrepreneurs Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis. Skype allows for users to call other users from their computer and communicate via microphone, as well as call and be called from regular phones.[wikipedia]
As you know, Skype has experienced rapid growth in both popular usage and software development, both of its free and its paid services. We use it for various features including instant messaging, file transfer, short message service, voice and video conferencing. But, do you know how to pronounce “SKYPE”?
You pronounce it as “SKY PI”[skaipi], “SKY PE”[skipe] or [skaip]? I have pronounce it as [skaipi] before until I heard my friend pronounced it as [skaip]. Then I tried to google for how to pronounce “SKYPE”.
Haha, i have wrongly pronounced it for a long time. The answer: Skype rhymes with ripe and type. If you still not sure how to pronounce it, you can try this. Call the skype lady (echo test site) and listen to her pronounce it. Just skype to: echo123

It’s true!!! I’ve won this time, my friends were telling me that it’s SKYPEE! Hehehehe now that I got the Skype lady on my side.
