Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong received rewards
Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong are so hot now that they are like super stars in Malaysia. Have you watched their appearance in Astro AEC last Sunday at 9.30pm? If you were their fan, I bet you must have enjoyed the interview, and might even have recorded it.
Personally, I think they are very cute, expecially true for Tan Boon Heong. Perhaps they are not very good in talking and camera shy… you can see that they are so much different on court and off court. Tough and strong on the badminton court; but shy and soft-spoken off court.
Recently both of them received RM35,000 from Perak and Kedah Goverment and State Barisan Nasional for making the state proud at the All-England Championships and Swiss Open. The state government gave RM10,000 and the state BN contributed RM25,000.
Anyway, I am a bit worry that they may become proud of their achievements and become lazy, not willing to put more efforts to achieve better performance for more international game and even Olympic 2008. We have too many ex-national badminton players as examples, don’t we?
Nevertheless, let’s look forward to their next championship which will be the Yonex-Sunrise Badminton Asia Championships 2007 (10-15 April) in Johor Bahru. Too bad this is not in KL, otherwise I will make sure I cam-whore with them!
