Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong champion of Swiss Open 2007

Oh my god! Our heroes did it again. What I can say is, they are really superb, like Superman! They proved once again that their winning was not pure luck, this time they captured yet another prestigious championship, the Men’s Doubles title of Swiss Open 2007 in Basel.
ALL England champions Koo Kien Keat-Tan Boon Heong further cemented their authority on the international scene by winning the Swiss Open in Basel yesterday.
Kien Keat-Boon Heong, the joint fifth seeds, came from a game down to beat World No 2 Jens Eriksen-Martin Lundgaard Hansen of Denmark 17-21, 21-16, 21-12 in 45 minutes to secure their second title in as many weeks.
Yesterday, I tuned in to my TV hoping to catch some exciting matches from the Swiss Open 2007 Finals. But, to my surprise, there wasn’t much to shout about and not much excitement at all from the men’s single, women’s single, mix doubles, and women’s doubles. But, the atmosphere suddenly changed when it was our boys’ turn to play, I started to get excited and glued my eyes on my TV. Haha, call me a super badminton fanatic… or to be exact KKK and TBH super fan!
The first set of the game really made me sweat. Both Malaysian and Danish pairs played very well, although they made quite a lot of mistakes at the net. Unfortunately, Koo and Tan lost the first set with 17-21. This made me really worry, if they still made these mistakes in the second set… I could see that their coach Rexy Mainaky was quite worry also during the game and wasted no time to lecture his boys during the 20 seconds interval.
However luckily, they managed to win the second set remarkably scoring 21-16. Wow, I felt a bit released when they won the second set, really, ~sweat~.
In the third set, I saw that they are back! Once again I witnessed their delicate drops and awesome smashes we used to see in previous matches such as those in the All England Championships. Our boys’ score marched further and further ahead. Before long they defeated the Danish pair 21-12.
A big congratulations to our heroes again!
