Yonex All England Championships 2007
Once again, our national men’s doubles pair Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong did it! They are now idols for a lot of young girls in this country. Hahaha, I am not going to deny that I am also one of them. As a fan of badminton myself, I definately did not miss out their awesome action in Yonex All England 2007 yesterday evening. How about you?
Although they have just partnered up for about 6 months, they have won a few big championships including the Gold medal in the 15th edition of Asian Games in Doha, and the Malaysia Open 2007. This time they won the gold medal at the Yonex All England Badminton Championship, in the men’s double event. Mind you, we have waited for a whooping 25 years for this! Who were the last from Malaysia to win this event at All England?
In their first outing as a pair in the championships, Kien Keat-Boon Heong tore apart world champions and top seeds Cai Yun-Fu Haifeng of China 21-15, 21-18 in a 38-minute battle to end Malaysia’s 25-year wait for the title in the event.
And when they clinched the point to seal the match, the 21-year-old Kien Keat rolled over in sheer delight and then jumped for joy as national coach Rexy Mainaky ran onto court to hug 20-year-old debutant Boon Heong.
With the victory, Kien Keat-Boon Heong handed a perfect birthday gift to Rexy, who turned 39 on March 9.

they are really good. let’s just hope their heads dont get too big. one thing though… credit must be given to rexy… i think he has been revelation.
we might finally have a chance to win an olympic medal.

i like when koo kien keat do a dance (jig)when they in the final point..it was kind of funny..but still i like it.kkk reaction n expression are very inspiring…hahaha
